Hot day, trip to Hull and a bit of gardening

I have only just come in and it is gone 9.30 pm so will keep it short. Just phone photos today. This morning I did go and make a start on trimming a bush in the front garden, ended up pulling up loads of dead poppies and it was raging hot be the time I got to the bush!
I gave up and thought I would try and do a bit more later this evening. Took a photo of a hollyhock in the back garden and a close up of the gladioli in the front.
The yucca flowers are opening up quickly and they are fabulous.
I went to Hull withTina as she had an appointment at the eye hospital. That was very  quick and we went into town. Tina got some jeans in the sale and I got a top, so very successful. We went to a B & Q on the way back and we got a co pile of reduced plants.
I went to see Sarah for a while this evening and helped her choose the colour for the kitchen walls, also got her new pedal bin in working order! When I came home I got the plants in and had another go at tidying up the bush. Certainly not perfect but looking a lot neater!
Sky pics to finish tonight.

  1. I think you’re downright mad even attempting to do gardening this weather. You’ll do yourself a mischief! Get a gardener or rope the other residents into doing some. You’re supposed to be retired, not retarded 😊 Can’t believe you bought more plants today!
You do get some great pics with that phone. The yukka reminds me of the magnolias. It’s very nice.
The sky pics are always a nice way to end the day.
    You need a holiday 😊

  2. The yucca is looking really spectacular now. Just tow reduced plants and then have filled spaces where all the poppies came out.
Pretty good camera on the phone and I am more used to using it now!
Gardening may be on the back burner tomorrow!
