Sea in the morning and a bit of sketching in the afternoon!

Darren and I decided to stay at home today rather than chance Skirlington, so I had an early walk donn to the sea front. Always  nd up taking pictures of the sea!

One of the seagulls enjoying their beach before the humans arrived!
On the way home I saw this little cat, made me a bit sad as she reminded me of Purdy, rarely see a dark tortie these days.

Also saw this lovely Rose.
Then this butterfly on the drive.
I did have a trip to the shop to get stuff for dinner and then another walk to the town hall to see a few more of the artists that were displayed not their work. May sign up to a couple of short sessions with a watercolourist. It was enough to make me sit in the summerhouse and do a bit of painting. My brushes are in a sorry state so if I am good no to try and get a bit more serious with the painting I had better get some replacements.
Bit of letter writing tonight I think.

  1. You can never have too many pictures of the sea. It’s such a vast expanse that changes so much. Always looks just that little bit different. Wish I lived closer to it.
That is a cute looking cat. Thank god my neighbour can’t save it or she’d be feeding it every day!
I’ve still not seen many butterflies around in my garden apart from a couple of cabbage whites flitting around the other day in the scorching heat.
You should definitely sign up for the sessions. I really like the painting you did today. I’m very impressed by the way you’ve made the glass in the summerhouse door show up. That’s not easy. Well it certainly wouldn’t be for me! Not too shabby for worn out brushes 😊

  2. The sun catching the sea is always good, but when it is dark and menacing it is great too,
I have seen a few butterflies this last week or so, not loads though.
I keep meaning to sketch more regularly, will try and make a better effort now!
