Hornsea museum

Took this picture of a while hollyhock last night, quite pretty.
This morning I went to the Living Well meeting, a couple called Greg and Sally ran it, they covered valuing yourself and looking after your ur mental health. It was very interesting, quite a few people turned up and I cleared away the tea and coffee things at the end. On the way black I got some garden canes as I need to support the gladioli, especially in the front garden as they are leaned get into the drive and may get knocked. I had lunch with Darren and Tina and then decided to have a look round the museum which I had planned to do before the school holidays.
Such a lot to see for a small museum, have v tried to ice a variety.

The kitchen and drawing room there and the next two are the writing desk in the drawing room and the desk in the doctors surgery.

Then the play room.

I had to try on the dressing up hats!

Then the bakery and some workshops.

A couple more of interest outside.

This monument was just very interesting.

Had a game of pick up sticks in the schoolroom!
I loved these two hangings, just woven in materials.

I thought I had taken some pictures in the Hornsea Pottery building but don’t seem to have them!
We have has some rain today which has been good for the garden. I did support the gladioli in the front garden, the orange one is looking fabulous.
The yucca in the front garden is now flowering, looking quite spectacular.
I went briefly to see David and Sarah this evening to try and help them pick a colour for their newly refurbished kitchen. Sarah is very particular so she still isn’t decided.

  1. That’s a lot of pics tonight, but some really good ones.
Sounds like a pretty good day, and best of all not much gardening. The plants all look great in the pics, but I really like pic of the yukka. I think the buildings in the background add to it in a way.
That museum has so much more in it than I expected. What a great little, well not so little, place to have next door. If I get up there while it’s open I’ll look forward to a look around.
The plough socks memorial is really nice. A great use of discarded bits. Wish we were still back in the times of the horse and plough. So much more peaceful than those humping great tractors they have these days! Everything else about life seemed so much better too.
    A light green.......for the kitchen 😊

    1. It is a great museum, and the house with all the Hornsea pottery over the years is really interesting too. I will go again before it closes for the winter, but will wait until the children are back at school!
Not sure if I have seen yucca flowers before, but they are fab.
