Boot sale and tin man making!

This morning Darren and I went to Skirlington as usual. We had a wander round some of the stalls and I got a top and a pair of earrings. Had a go on the charity tombola and we didn’t go to the market as Darren was going to archery at Burton Constable.
A lady from Lucian’s had dropped off some bear cans for me yesterday and I had foil roasting trays for a body and a waste paper basket for the head of a tin man! For the scarecrow trail I hasten to add. I need two more baking trays for the lower body, I did go to factory shop to see if they had any but no luck, so will have to carry on with the tin man tomorrow. A couple of pictures of progress so far.

I worked on that for a couple of hours, had extension lead, two drills, pliers, wire and wood cutter, general chaos, the walled garden also smelt like a brewery!
I went into the summer house for a while and took a lot of pictures of the few birds I saw, still quite a lot on the blog but could have been so many More!

Always nice to see the sparrows and the two different kinds as well. Then the juvenile blackbird in the bird bath.
Another sparrow picture and the first of the tit collection!

They are just too cute and irresistible!

I liked this one as it is sort of in flight!
Now a bit of variety, bird wide at least.

Then more tits!

And one closer.
On the way indoors I took a picture of the thistle which is now opening.
Watched a bit of the football this evening, no real surprises there.

  1. You have been busy today, and very creative too.
I do like the top you got. That’s very pretty. Always a bargain to be had on a Sunday morning.
I’m really impressed with the tin man. The two trays for the body were a brilliant brainwave. Perfect for it. Not sure if you’ll get away with saying someone gave you the empty beer cans though 🍺😊 You certainly do fill your days with unusual stuff.
Glad to see you managed a bit of down time in the summerhouse. All work and no play as they say....... Some really nice pics again. Think my favourite tonight os the young blackbird in the bath. You really are getting some very close up shots of the birds. The one of the tit hanging off the bottom of the feeder is particularly nice. I really like the thistle too. So many good ones to choose from!

  2. The top was just a pound, nearly ripped her arm off!
I like trying to really zoom in now, delete more than I take as half the time they have moved so it is blurred or have flown away!
I think the tin man will be different, hope itisleft alone once it is out thefront!
