It was damp earlier but I decided to get started on the front garden. I went to the corner where we had the stump grinding done. On the way up there I took a couple of pictures of the sea holly as the butterflies have found them.
I had already started working on the corner of the bed when I thought I would take a photo.
Some of the roots and runners were still at the edges but the ground was easier to turn after the rain as it had been set like concrete!
So more gardening than I have done in awhile, but I feel okay at the moment, and it certainly looks better.
More butterfly pics! Strange the effect of the light.
When Darren got home he and Darren moved the Tim man back into the walled garden. I removed his legs for the move!
I did a very quick sketch of a plant I have had for a while, drew it with a fine line pen.
I went to see Sarah for a bit this evening and then got some plants in that had been left in the garden by a lady we saw at the art exhibition.
Now that’s just showing off! A pic with two butterflies and two bees! I’ve only seen white ones so far, and you get two colourful ones in one shot. Definitely a pretty specimen though. I assume their wings are shinier on the underside and make them more reflective. Clever thing nature.
ReplyDeleteThat’s a big chunk of garden to weed and dig. You’ll need a holiday to recover from all the gardening you’ve done lately. Hopefully it won’t be full of weeds when you get back.
I’m pleased the tin man made it though it’s display phase without being robbed of its parts. I’m guessing it will be a permanent companion for you in the walled garden now 😊
All the gardening and visiting you’ve done and you still find time to knock out a bit of art. At least you used my favourite technique. It’s great, and I’m so envious of your talent.
You even end the evening with a bit of gardening. Wish I knew where you get all your energy from!
Lovely to see that we have butterfly attracting plants, we do see lots of bees.
ReplyDeleteI was pleased to get a good bit of gardening done, my knee held up really well so pretty much over the night time trip now. The wellies did make the sore toe hurt though!
