Blue playing and a sweltering trip out!

This morning I had to get stuff out of the summer house as I attempted sleeping in there last night. It was pleasant and not too hot but I couldn’t really get comfortable on the chairs, so I came back indoors just before 2am. As I came out I found Charlie sleeping on the steps as if he had been protecting me! He cameo with me, had some food and then went out the front door which is his usual nighttime exit! I have had stomach cramps for a couple of days now so still wasn’t feeling too lively this morning. Tina and I had a cup of tea before going out to get some shopping and sort a couple of things needingus to go to Beverley. Tina had a bit of a play with Blue.

In the garden there were so many hover flies on this poppy!
This beautiful begonia wasn’t quite this big last year.
And the sweet peas and really doing well, this is a complete new bunch!
We went to Freeport before we set off for Beverley, we got cat food and some other stuff at Poundstretcher and then we had lunch which was ver nice. Then we popped into the craft outlet and saw Mags and Abi, Mags had texted me to say she had some more of the vests and hats for the African babies. We collected those and then set off for Beverley. It was incredibly hot in the car but luckily it has air conditioning which made it bearable. We did the jobs we needed to do and decided to drive back to Freeport to see if we could find some sun loungers in case I decide to try sleeping outside again! As we were leaving Beverley these buildings seemed really bowed, it doesn’t show up that well in the photo.
We did call into Cherry Lane garden centre and I got some good deals on bird food, then we went back to Freeport  and had an iced coffee at the coffee shop before looking for the chairs. I just loved the counter there!
We found some great chairs at a very reasonable price. Very comfortable too but seeing me trying to get up from it was a sight to see!

No rain yet, but we are hoping that it will still arrive!

  1. You picked a really hot day for trolling around the shops, but a car with air conditioning really helps....until you get out!
Think tonight would be another good night to try camping out, with your guardcat of course 😊 Just don’t get stuck in the chair. I can’t image D or T being too happy if you ring them at 2am to give you a hand out of it!
That is a lot of hover flies in one flower. The poppy is so bright it looks like plastic in the pic. Love the begonia.
I can see the bow in that building. I wouldn’t want to be living there, or walking by it come to that! If you look carefully you can see the circular plates that are on the ends of steel tie rods they feed from the front to back of the house to support it. Still doesn’t look safe though.
Really praying for rain tonight to cool things down. Maybe Tina could have a word with her boss 😊

  2. That poppy does look like plastic, it was very bright sun when I took the photo.
Along that row of vowed houses was The Whit Horse pub which is quite well know in the area. As you say, they really don’t look structurally sound!
Must take my phone with me if I do sleep out, if I don’t phone for help I may fall and have to call for medical help!
