It has lots of buds so should be really spectacular before too long. Saw Sarah again today, she was off to Beverley for a meeting and said I could go along. We had coffee and croissants before we part company and then I walked down towards the minster, looking in various charity shops on the way.
The monster is impressive but in a very built up area so getting good shots is a problem.
I sat on a bench looking at the west door and started a sketch until I was told to move as they were locking the grounds up. There was building work going on so they needed to make it safe.
I walked up to St Mary’s church then, I had bought a hat in one of the charity shops and was wearing it!
The label said it was for a seven to ten year old!
Those two pics were taken in the lovely memorial garden at the back of St Mary’s.
Saw this sign on the way back to meet Sarah.
This afternoon I went in the summer house for a bit, took some pictures of Scruffy, apologies for the number but not sure how much longer he/she will be around.
Then the squirrel made an appearance and was being quite cute.
I walked to the shops as I had won a pound bag of sweets in the factory shop. I took this picture of the lavatera as the flowers start white but then turn pink!
This evening I have watered the back garden and walled garden as the rain still hasn’t arrived!
That looks a very nice plant. I like the saucer it’s sitting on too 😊
ReplyDeleteIt’s very difficult to get pics of buildings like that. Specially as you say in built up areas. Unless you stand in the middle of a busy road! Shame they threw you out of the grounds of the minster, but I love the drawing you did, even if it didn’t get finished. Bet it only took you a few minutes to get that far too! Envious, me.....yep 😊
Scruffy is so identifiable. I wonder why he/she is so scruffy, so to speak. Every time I scroll down the blog and come across a squirrel pic I automatically go “Awwww”. They are such cute creatures. It’s the big eyes and the little hands in front of them 😊
Hope your free bag of sweets are good, and you’re enjoying them this evening.
I had just presumed that Scruffy is old, not that I am sure what old is in bird life! I have got quite attached to him/her though.
ReplyDeleteThe squirrels do just seem cheeky and entertaining to watch.
I think was was sat there sketching for half an hour or so, quite a difficult subject so was quite pleased with the result.
