Busy and varied day

This morning I went out quite early to post a letter and on a whim decided to have a bit of a walk. Nice white hydrangea in the memorial garden.
Just looking at the photos realised I took one of the sky last night when sitting out on the patio having a cuppa with Tina. Not sunset, just unusual clouds.
Back to today and one shot of the seafront.
Late morning Tina and I set off to see if we could find the Coastal Retreat plant nursery. We did find it and it was a fascinating place. Run by a lady who is now working on her own. She had two delightful border collie dogs and kept treats on the side so you could feed them after they had shaken paws with you! Just three pics, one is a lovely plant. Very cheap and the plants were in great condition.

We dropped the plants back here and then decided to go to the mere for lunch. We took the little bit of bird food we had with us. Not nearly enough as it turned out! Tina took to the camera and let me go into the fray!!

Just a few Canada geese as young u can see! We had a little walk around and I took a couple of pics, had a job closing in on the hooded crow, about 100 zoom and no monopod!

Just thought the one behind the goose was funny! We had seen a sign for boat trips so took some pics of the ducks while we were waiting.

Now a few of the boat trip which was really enjoyable. Only the two of us the the guy was funny and informative, we got longer that the usual half hour I think!

That gorilla apparently came from London Zoo! Some more pictures of the trip.

Final one of the boat trip.
This afternoon/evening I have planted all the things we bought and have watered the gardens. This beautiful poppy has appeared in the back garden.
I am giving the talk/demonstration tomorrow and we are going to get the tin man into the front garden.

  1. That was a very day and a lot of pics. I like the one of the clouds from last night. I’m still convinced a lot of people never look at the sky at all. They look at you gone out if you point out cloud patterns etc!
An unplanned walk is a good way to start any day, specially when it’s down to see the sea. All those negative ions are supposed to be good for make you feel relaxed and happy. I could do with some of them 😊
The plant nursery sounds and looks a great place. Nice dogs too. Glad to hear you got plants and no bulbs!
That’s a lot of geese you were feeding, well some of them anyway. They do get carried away when they’re keen to get at the food though. Hope you didn’t get snapped at too much. I think Tina had the right idea standing back with the camera. I was impressed with your 100x hand held zoom shots too. You’ll be throwing away the monopod soon. The mere looks a really nice place to visit. Even better on such a nice day with those blue skies and clouds. Very photographic and you made the most of it.
The boat trip was a nice way to round it off, and gave you chance to get some pics from a different aspect. What a great day. Shame you had to plant all your purchases and water the garden this evening. Bet you were ready for a sit down by then.
Another busy day tomorrow from the sounds of it. I wish I knew where you got all your energy from!

  2. A really enjoyable day, the boat trip being a bonus.
Fabulous little nursery, we will be going there again, it is good that I got the plants in, just wish that rain would arrive now!
It was a lot of geese and they all made a beeline for me once I went to them!
