Tin man and clever little robin

It is quite late now so I will keep the writing to a minimum and get the photos posted. After going to Countdown to get some more tin man building supplies and then got on with the job in hand. I got two more roasting trays to make the lower body. Had to squash them down a bit and then actually wiring them to the body with the arms flailing about was a challenge in itself!
I wired the arms onto the arms of the chair and then set about making the legs, so cutting stakes and drilling holes in wood and cans, but got him assembled but still have to make a face and heart!
Tina took a picture of me with him which gives a better idea of the size.
Then I spent about an hour and a half weeding in the front garden, the bed all along the side wall and the one at the front that people see first.
After lunch I went and sat in the summer house for a bit. Not a lot of bird activity but I was thrilled to see the young robin had worked out how to use the feeders, it has been quite a journey watching it gain in confidence from flipping and flying at the feeder to now landing and feeding properly. Will put several photos as I think they will be pretty hard to come by.

The last one is probably the best.
One more of the same robin down in the grass, he is out of focus but I quite like the effect!
I have been out to see Sarah this evening, she bought me a lovely plant for helping her in the kitchen on Sunday, I will take a photo of it tomorrow.

  1. The tin man is fantastic. I really can’t help but smile when I look at it. You’ve done a brilliant job of it. I think you’ll be getting a few comments about it when it goes on display.
The robin pics are great, but the last one is really cracking. I hope you’ve added it to your folder! I’d be proud to print and hang that one on the wall any day if I’d have taken it. You’re getting quite good at this photography lark 😊

  2. Have added that one to the print folder, it is really clear.
The tin man makes me smile when I walk into the walled garden where he is at the moment, he will move to the front garden on Friday.
