Sorting artwork and gardening

This morning I carried various pieces of my artwork downstairs and spread it out in piles on the dining room table. Friends were coming in this evening to see some examples. Also did a few household chores and got some towels dried outside on the line which was good.
Darren and Tina went out to lunch at Skirlaugh garden centre. They bought me some nice first day covers that I will try to get into a frame so that they aren’t just tucked away in a drawer never to be seen again. The also got me an astilbe plant which is the one I saw on my walk yesterday.
They bought me some indoor compost as well in readiness for my talk.
I went to the shop to get some lunch and ate it out in the summer house. Not a lot of bird activity but got some cute ones of a blue tit from a different angle. The one with it looking at me I think is particularly cute!

A blackbird was enjoying the bath to cool down!

I took these next two pictures from my seat in th summer house at 128 zoom! I am amazed I kept it still even with the monopod.

Tina and I went shopping when they got here me as she has a group coming for a meeting on Saturday that travel long distances. We drove back via the sea front and she stopped to let me take a picture of the crater where a pub had been!
This evening Tina and I met up with Andrea and Lunny, we had a lovely meal and then they came back here to look at some of my artwork. An enjoyable evening, I will pack everything away again tomorrow but was nice to look through it all. I had a job finding it and a lot of it was drawn over fifty years ago!

  1. Really pleased you got the plant you’d seen. Now not only have you got one, you know what it’s called! It really is pink! Always nice to get pressies, and two in one day is very good.
The birds look so frail, and their legs look like they could snap any minute, specially hanging upside down like that. Think I’ll have to start eating fat balls, they’re obviously good for you 😊 The long zoom pics are extremely good for that distance. The monopod certainly makes a difference. You should try it without another day just for a comparison.
A nice meal with a good group of friends is a nice way to finish any day.

  2. Yes they do look fragile and they are so tiny. So cute, such a joy to watch them.
Yes, two presents in a day is pretty good going, got another one tonight as Andrea has got photo books for us. Will put a picture or two of it tomorrow.
