Had lunch with Tina and then Sarah and David arrived and stayed for a couple of hours.sarah loved people watching looking out of my sitting room window, especially to the reactions of people to the tin man. After they had gone I cleaned up the shove halfpenny board and tried it with some two pence, definitely in need of practice!
After dinner I popped round to Sarah’s to see how the new kitchen is progressing. Sarah doesn’t cope at all well with chaos, I think it will look really good when it is finished. Sarah gave me a gnome that had been David’s, not sure I can actually put it anywhere! The picture isn’t too clear, took it with the phone in not good light.
You can still get the idea though!
I only stopped for an hour as I needed to water both gardens. A gladioli is opening in the front garden and it looks like it will be a vibrant orange,
There is a fabulous plant in the back garden, in the shade and near the back, but very striking.
Much quieter day today, maybe. some gardening tomorrow!
The scones and cake look very nice, and I’m betting very tasty too! Pity you can’t post stuff like that, well I suppose you could but what it would look like on arrival is another matter.
ReplyDeleteI’ve not played shove halfpenny, or shove tuppence as it is now, for a very long time. Trying out work out what the two compartments at the top are for. One for coins I suppose and one for chalk maybe.
I’m sure you could find somewhere for the gnome, behind a flower or something 😊 You could hide it behind the gladioli, it looks quite large. Edna would love it.
That’s what I thought the two compartments were for as well.
ReplyDeleteI like Arsenal and on his hat it just says ‘Gunners’ so I could avoid showing his bottom!
