This morning I went up to the bus stop. There is a building there, possibly a bed and breakfast at some point, that has now gone to rack and ruin. I have often thought that it would be good to own it and have the ground floor apartment for myself, pipe dreams I know.
I caught the early bus to go and have a swim, the sun on the south bay was amazing again, but so hard to capture.
I walked into town from there today before catching the bus home. I passed this shop window.
Tina gave me a lift into town this afternoon to the station as I was off to meet Mike at York station.
I took a couple of pictures from the train window.
A picture of the station when I arrived.
And of the racks of bikes, quite a lot of cyclist commuters in York.
And the roof.
We hung about for a while to try and get a taxi and in the end we phoned Tina who kindly came to collect us.
We have had fish and chips this evening and Mike has been admiring and photographing the changing sunset. I will post a couple now and some more tomorrow.
Tina took us for a late drive down to the front to see the sea, a nice way to round off the day.
When you win the lottery you won't know which one to live in first, that one or the one with the turret on South Bay! Either would do me :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for arranging my visit and coming to York to meet me. I've enjoyed all of the day. The train trip was really pleasant, and getting back to Scarborough was great. It seems an eternity since I was here last. It was a lovely evening, very tasty F&C, and the photographic trip out courtesy of Tina was an added bonus, although I'd already taken more pictures of the sunset by that point than I've taken photos this year :-) I'm looking forward to another nice day tomorrow, regardless of what we end up doing.
It was a good trip and I hope you have a good birthday today. No rain yet, so we will see what the day holds.
