New toy...

A lovely day today, the wind had dropped and the sun was shining.
Mike and I were catching the 11.32 am bus into town to have lunch before we make our way to the station, so I cooked breakfast for us today and then we had a relaxed morning before travelling. Mike did have a little play with my new toy, but more of that in a bit. He also looked at the rocking chair, I had bought a bolt to try and mend the arm but it is not quite suitable, so back to the drawing table with that.
We had dinner at Mother Hubbards, very nice fish and chips. Then we went to the station, I was going to York with Mike to see him onto the Peterborough train. He has enjoyed the train journeys so I think will be happy to make his own way here next time. We had time to go to the loo and check the platform, but the time we got there Mike's train was boarding. I had half an hour or so before my train so had a coffee on the station. I took a few pictures as the train was moving along, it is a pleasant journey between Scarborough and York.

As I said, Mike set up my new pyrography machine. so after Tina has collected me, we had a cup of tea and I sat with my feet up for a bit, I decided to try and have a little play with it myself.
Just made up a hobbit house, but will plan out the next one and have a play with some other wires before I start.
The sky was dramatic earlier, those clouds have dispersed now.
I am feeling quite tired tonight and the ankle has been very sore today, so not a lot planned for this evening or tomorrow.

  1. Breakfast was very nice. You can't beat eggs on toast, and the mushrooms just finished it off nicely. Lunch was pretty nice too. The fish and chips in Scarborough are always tasty, and the bread and butter pudding I had too just ended the meal nicely! Had some really nice meals and snacks while I was with you. Back to gruel now :-)
The train journeys today were pretty straight forward, and any small child could have done them. That's why I needed assistance this time :-) Next time should be a breeze though........hopefully!
Blimey, you soon got the hobbit house sorted with the new pyro toy! Makes my efforts pale in comparison :-) Great new toy though which you should have hours of fun with. I expect there'll be another on here tomorrow if you're going to be trapped in most of the day. Do hope the ankle is a bit better tomorrow for you.

  2. Good to have nice meal memories when you have been away. No doubt you will soon be on a sensible diet regime soon. It is good that these train journeys have been good and have given you a bit of confidence in having more trips.
I will try and have a proper practice tomorrow and sort out a specific picture to have a go at.
