This morning Darren and I went to the boot sale and had our sausage sandwich and cup of tea as usual. I did take the crutches in the car but in the end wandered for half an hour or so on the stalls near the car and Darren went off to see everything. A lovely morning and very, very busy today both with sellers and buyers. I had about an hour in the car but had my puzzle book with me and could do a bit of people watching. I saw a few things that was tempted with, but in the end bought a pair of light summer trousers from one of the traders and a large bag of rhubarb!
I had made a long shopping list last night, it is Christmas cake making time, a bit later that usual really, and now I have to find which box the cake tins are in as I packed them. After we left the boot sale we went to Sainsburys for a big shop, if I spent over £40 I would get a voucher for 12 p off a litre of petrol and Tina is about ready to fill her car up. So, ingredients bought and waiting downstairs for me to make them into cakes.
You know tha Shashi arrived yesterday. I am worried that she will get dirty with feet all over her sp decoded she needed to have a little cover for her back! I has some spare fabrics over from a supply I got in America last year, so decided to use them. I made a simple pattern out of the paper and set to.
I enjoyed making the Christmas cards last year, so ordered some decoupage sheets that arrived a couple of days ago. Made a start this afternoon so definitely a pre-Christmas theme going here!
We have had a nice dinner, too big as usual, and the rhubarb crumble turned out really well.
I hope we have more success on this final night of the athletics, great relays last night.
Is the world due to end? No sky pictures tonight! Can't believe you've not had a sunset of some description as it's been a nice day. May report you to Google for this.
ReplyDeleteThe sheep cover looks good, and will definitely help keep it clean. Maybe a black one would have been better in that respect, but not so nice looking. I'd still worry about using it though!
You are being very Christmassy tonight. But I won't knock it as it involves cakes, and you know how much I like the cakes :-) Roll on Christmas.
Enjoy the last night of the athletics. It's back to normal stuff tomorrow.
The sun is setting now, so a good chance there will be pictures tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI think the sheep is actually a stool rather that a footstool, it appears strong enough.
I need to buy the actual cards but making the toppers is a start.
It hadn't occurred to me that it wasn't actually sunset when I commented! DOH!
ReplyDeleteThere wasn't any sun to capture last night, got a few for tomorrow though!
