This morning I caught a reasonably early bus as my appointment at the x-ray department was at 10 am. The second bus was a bit late but I had allowed plenty of time and was seen pretty much on time. I got the bus back into town quickly and today, although my ankle was sore and I am now convinced that I have a 'alvulsion fracture' I decided to get a bit of shopping done. It suddenly went from a bright morning to dark, this photo doesn't really show how dark it became.
Then the storm started, continuous thunder and lightening for a long time along with torrential rain! I was fairly high up the high street, the flooding was much more dramatic down the steep hills to the front, but watching for twenty minutes or so was entertaining.
I eventually had to make my way to the bus stop, I was dripping wet by the time I got there and it was running about twenty minutes late due to the weather conditions. Tina was at home, still not very well, she had been taking pictures of the garden, it was still raining so I just took one of the steps.
The cats had come in and were ensconced in my bedroom, Blue had settled on the bed.
And Charlie on his usual pink chair.
When I was out I bought a tube of actual chocolate that you could then heat up and use for writing on cakes. So Just made the simnel cake look a little more like a birthday cake for Anya.
Lovely evening here now, hopefully no more rain for a while now.
OMG! Those sunsets are fantastic! You never cease to amaze me with them. You really will miss that view when you move :-(
ReplyDeleteHeard about the flash flooding in Scarborough on the radio. I can see what they meant now! It's been lovely here :-) Does make for good pictures though. Good job you don't mind getting wet!
I'll have to look up that medical term, but it would be nice if you actually had a reason for the pain, because then they can probably get it sorted. Fingers crossed.
The cake looks great. If Anya looks on here it'll totally spoil the surprise though. But I'm guessing she'll know you're making a cake.
Thanks for the great little mug, which arrived today in a very interesting puzzle parcel :-) It's a great size and feels really good to use. It'll get a lot of use.
I don't think Anya looks at the blog now, otherwise I wouldn't have put the picture on!
ReplyDeleteYes, good picture opportunities for this post, if I had caught the bus straight home I would have missed it!
Pleased the mug is safe and has a good welcome!
