A bit more pyrography

The photo that I took at the theatre yesterday, before I was told off, is quite dark. You can just about see that the seats opposite are empty, the performance ended up being full. It was taken from my seat and as you can see we at the front were almost part of the action!
This morning Darren and I were away just before 7 am to have a stall at the boot sale, we had packed the car to the brim with the help of Tina yesterday evening. We did really well, sold all of the big items and actually had so little left that it all fitted inside the large suitcase. We had our sausage sandwich as usual and when we were finished we had dinner at Sainsbury's as Tina was going out this afternoon/evening.
More athletics on this afternoon which was good, this time from Birmingham, but saw Mo Farah win his last track race in this country. Kate liked the pen box I decorated for her for her birthday so thought I would get the pyrography tool out again to make a start on s box for Mark.

The other day I made Christmas cakes but also two Simnel cakes. One as a birthday cake which I will have to transport on the train, and the second one for Darren who just enjoys the rich fruit cakes I make. So I marzipaned them today, but all over and none of the traditional balls on the top!
The asparagus fern loves it here on the landing, when we move we will have to have a high place to stand it away from a certain little (in age at least) cat.
No sunset tonight, the sun did try to come through a little time ago but has disappeared again now.
All in all a good day, but I am really flagging now. Have to get to the hospital for physio tomorrow and again on  Wednesday for an x-ray on my ankle.

  1. Blimey, that is a compact theatre! Great for seeing a play or a musical though. I don't understand why they ban cameras all the time. I know a lot of it is to do with copyrights and they want you to buy programs etc to get the pictures, but can't see what harm one or two like yours do. Anyway, I bet they didn't have any signs, and they don't normally tell you until they start, so you can plead ignorance :-)
You did very well at the boot sale. A bit less stuff to keep shifting around now, and a bit more room for collecting more stuff :-)
The little box for Mark is lovely. I think he'll like that, and bet he's quite sporty and has medals already.
The cake looks delicious! Really fancy a big slice of that right now.
Good luck at the hospital tomorrow, but I can't see you'll be doing too many physio exercises for a while :-(

  2. I had been to the theatre once before but I was up at the top so not in the action like this time. Quite a challenge for them directing and producing something 'in the round' like that.
Don't think I have ever returned with such a small amount from a boot sale, we will keep what we have for the next one.
I will varnish the box, am going to burn sports balls on a couple of segments first.
I expect Darren will sample his cake a bit later.
