I said last night that I had been taking more photos as the sky coloured as the sun disappeared.
I have heard and seen the geese quite a bit lately, must be getting towards migration time. I grab the camera, but rarely in time, so this picture, although not in focus, is going on the blog!
Although Sandy has now moved out of the town she said she would pick me up to take me to the studio this morning. We had rain overnight so the flowers were looking fresh. This gladioli was bent so I sort of guessed when taking the photograph. I have planted quite a lot but most of them aren't budding.
The hollyhock has been lovely , such a deep colour.
I have three different nasturtiums but this one is the only one with the variegated leaves, very attractive and they have self sown.
I cleaned and filled the paint pots at the studio, they had been busy last week so a lot of them were on the verge of being empty. I collected two plates that I had painted a couple of years ago now, always did like the water lily one.
The pottery 'canvas' using the dried bits of paint from the pots was ready to be collected. Apart from having pink in the clouds and the foam, which was unintentional it has worked quite well. I am very careful when collecting the dried paint, but not the only one who ever does it, and when it is dry the pale pink is not a lot different to the white!
This afternoon Tina has an appointment in town and offered to take me in if I wanted to have a bit of a wander around. I managed pretty well, walking very slowly and not for too long. I bought a pair of backless sandals as the ankle is at the point where it does't want anything touching it again! Been there and done that already........ I caught the bus home and yippee, the new bus pass works!
The gladioli had dried and is really very beautiful, so thought it was worth another shot.
Listening to Don Williams at the moment, but have Holby and the final part of Trust Me later.
I really like all those Sky pics tonight. You seem to be using the larger camera a bit more these days for them. The chimney pots and aerials are good, but some without them make a change :-) Birds flying over like the geese are pretty hard to catch, so I can see why you were determined they had to be uploaded. You often manage to catch a gull in flight in your skies too, which always adds to the composition. That sounded a bit arty farty:-)
ReplyDeleteI remember those plates from when you did them. Are they to use now, or display? The canvas worked out well too. Shame the pink found its way in there, but I think it looks ok. It could be a reflection from all those red skies you get there :-)
Glad the bus pass if working now, not that it seemed to bother any of the drivers when it wasn't!
It was really overcast and grey earlier, then there was suddenly a lovely sunset! They were lovely last night and hopefully there will be some good ones for tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI am going to used the plates, I have a few I have painted that I use regularly, I like using the things I have painted. The canvas is okay, a little disappointed but you can't win them all!
