Going potty for pottery!

The sky was very different last night, it looked very dark and as if there was no chance of a sunset and then as the evening went on it became brighter. Quite a few shots I am afraid, not not nearly as many as I took!

Tina had been at choir practice and rang me to see if I wanted to go and see the sunset as sea. Sadly she was held up so we missed the best of it, but it was still beautiful, just more subtle.
This morning I caught the bus reasonably early and went to the pool. Took a couple of photos of the sun on the sea through the trees which have come out almost monochrome.

The ankle is not good, even getting twinges when I am in bed doing nothing now, but I made my way along to the mobility place and got a scooter after my swim and then went to see Donna at the studio. She is very clever and has had some challenging commissions but I think the large bus, make from slabs of clay, to go in a fish tank is probably one of the hardest. It is great, I am sure the person who wanted it will be happy.
I collected my lovely little coaster that Amy painted for me.

Also the mini mug that I painted up for Mike.

I have used the dried pieces of paint that I remove from the paint pots before, and today I thought it would be nice to try and use then on one of the pottery 'canvases' that they have in stock. It will need two firings so won't be seeing the effect for a while.
I took the scooter back to the centre and got the bus home Had an easy afternoon and then went down and cooked another bacon clad lasagne, this time with more bacon.
Have just watched the tribute program for Brucie, I was a big fan so enjoyed it immensely.

  1. The changes in the sky over one evening is amazing! Each of those could have been taken on a different night. Such an amazing change from the first one.
The bus is lovely, and strangely enough I can imagine it in a big fish tank, it'll look great! I like the coaster and the canvas, which is a nice effect, but I have to say my favourite is my mug :-) It looks really good. Thanks for doing that.
Sorry to hear you're getting so much grief from the ankle right now. Wish I had an answer for it, but I think you've tried everything possible until you go back to the hospital :-(

  2. Really pleased you like the mug, I think it is cute and will surely remind you of Scarborough times!
The sky was very different last night, getting brighter rather than darker and ending up colourful.
