Anyone for Christmas cake?

A bit of sunset action last night.

It has been a lovely day but apart from shopping with Tina this afternoon I haven't been out. The whole morning was taken up with preparing for and then making the first three Christmas cakes. They have cooled down now and are wrapped and awaiting their brandy infusions.
This evening, when I was wrapping them, I lined three more tins ready for another batch tomorrow.
They had 25% off the clothing at Sainsbury's, so after Tina and I had eaten some lunch we had a good look round before getting some food shopping. We did both get new tops. I also bought this great cookie cutter, haven't made biscuits much of late, but think it will be fun to do something with this.
I was going to go out for a bit but the pain in my ankle flared up so I decided that it was more sensible to stay indoors. Haven't heard about the x-ray yet, maybe tomorrow!

  1. Nice sunsets. Even better with the obligatory aerial and bird in flight :-)
The cakes look gorgeous. I wish it was nearer to Christmas as I could definitely eat one of those! I know they'll be even better once they've had a good soaking though.
A bit of shopping is always good. I do like the cookie cutter. You could use that on clay too. Shame the ankle flared up even more today :-( Hopefully the X-ray will come through soon, maybe even before your hospital appointment!

  2. I think it would be a great cutter for clay, but I want to try and do a biscuit trial first. Maybe I will get them one next time I go!
The cakes have cooked well, this oven is fine when you have it on the lowest setting, I suppose the pressure wouldn't make much difference to it if it fluctuated.
Hopefully the appointment won't be too much longer.
