Shopping done and Tina drove us down to the bays. She pulled over long enough for me to take a couple of photos of the north bay.
Then she drove round the south bay and along to the Spa one where she stopped for me again.
Then off to the mere, it was raining so we had our lunch in the car and then bought bags of bird food. We have never seen them so hungry or violently aggressive with each other. One young bird had a damaged wing and we saw some others nearly get damaged while we fed them. We think that not so many people have been gong there as usual.
Some more shots that don’t need much description.
Not done yet, Tina drove us up to Oliver’s Mount.
We called in at a garden centre on the way home, I needed more compost and Tina needed more sand, got a few more plants as well! Then home, a really lovely day out, the first proper trip out in a long time.
Will finish tonight with an amazing picture from my National Geographic mails.
This is by a Danish artist called Thomas Dambo, he makes sculptures from recycled wood and places them in less known green spaces around the world!
What a lovely day. I know you two usually have a good laugh when you’re out together so it makes for a fun day. Great to get back to some of your old haunt too. I’ve really enjoyed looking at all the pics of Scarborough tonight. It’s lovely to see all the old places I’ve been to in the past. Scarborough is a really nice place.
ReplyDeleteAlso good to get into the big Sainsbury’s. Perfect place for your first big shop as it’s so spacious inside. Bet you felt like a kid in a candy store with the collection of things you could fill your trolly with! Maybe you should both make it a regular thing, maybe once a month or so.
Love the sculpture 😊
It was a really good day, Hornsea is nice, and it is flat which is better for walking, but Scarborough is just such a fabulous place. Must try and get to the glen next time.
DeleteA few more plants to get in tomorrow, weather permitting.
