Team work

When I went out to feed the birds our pair of seagull visitors were down while I was still in the garden. Spotted these foot prints on one of the pavers which was a smile for the start of the day!
When I was heading out to get ready to do some gardening I spotted the blackbird on the rockery stump. Luckily I got the phone out in time to catch him sat there.
Today I had decided that I was going to do the edges and weed the large bed round the lawn. Tina has ordered new edging shears so should be able to keep int tidy from now on, theoretically at least!
Tina came out into the garden today as well, which was great. She started digging up more of the rogue bluebells that is a never ending task all on its own! We do have some English ones which will be flowering soon, we are looking forward to seeing them. When Tina had done a fair bit of bluebell digging she gathered up some of the branches and twigs to burn them.
That back corner is getting much clearer now. After she had done a bit of burning she followed me along the bottom bed, I was cutting and she collected the grass up for me.
Managed to do the edges of the whole bed, it does look tidier now!
We sat in the summer house for a while, when I moved to get something from indoors Blue took over my chair! I had some bird food to decant in the greenhouse and after that went to the summer house again and she was still on the chair I usually sit on to watch the birds. I left her and set a chair up in the gardenin the shade so that I could see the birds but not be too obvious to them. Took a picture of the lovely red leaved acre first!
There wasn’t a lot of bird activity but got a couple of a starling and one of a blue tit, from the different position the colour is fabulous!
This evening I tried one of the ready meals I sent for on offer that you can keep in the cupboard. It was chicken in parsley sauce with new potatoes and green beans. It was the smallest chicken breast I have ever seen, and the potatoes were a little odd but the parsley sauce was very tasty. After one meal I don’t think I will be buying anymore at the higher price!
I have been out to water the garden this evening and took one more picture of the bed I worked on today as it just looks so good when the soil is darkened with the water. The soil in that bed is dry and like dust, we will have to see if we can improve it, although stuff seems to grow well enough.
It is clapping night tonight, going to take a saucepan and spoon out tonight to make some noise!!

  1. The seagull prints are cool. You certainly do keep an eye open for these unusual things, and it pays off.
The rockery has really fitted in just there, and the old tree stuff has found a good use. Waste not want not as they say. Every time I see a pic of the rockery I think that rabbit is real!
A fair bit of work in the garden again, but it’s always nicer if you have a bit of help to do it. Always seems so much easier. I bet you’re still pooped though. It does look so nice tidied and edged. It’s just a pity that it doesn’t stay that way!
The bird pics came out really well with that bit of sun on them. Bet you’ll be returning to that spot again for a few more. The reflected colours on the starling look great.
The meal looks ok, apart from the potatoes looking a bit plastic like. I see what you mean about the tiny chicken 🐓 breast. Think it needed to work out a bit more to build it up 😊 The meals were worth a try, but definitely not worth the full price.
The Rev will disown you when you start bashing the living daylights out of a saucepan 😊

  2. Clapping was fun tonight, we could actually hear some clapping and a man in a fault along the road had his window open and joined in and all the vehicles that went by had people clapping inside and a few were sounding their horns. Took Hornsea a while to catch on but it seems we are getting there!
It was a reasonable amount of work again today, but enjoyable too, and it feels like it is really getting under control, we’ll, parts of it anyway.
Will try sitting somewhere different again to take pics, they were so sharp in that light.
