Quieter day, and card making

I was a bit slow coming to this morning and then ordered some stuff on line. When I went downstairs Tina was out using the incinerator, she does like burning things! After that she asked what needed doing at the back of the garden, I said we needed to get the roots of the bushes out as they send runners and pop up everywhere! She got stuck in with the digging behind the new path.
I planted some lupins and a couple of other bits. The foxgloves that I transplanted from the fairy garden have taken a while but they are picking up nicely in that bed, and hopefully the lupins will be happy there.
Tina did great work getting roots out, we are going to carry on clearing up to the summer house next.
I planted up three London Pride plants which I really hope will take. They are next to the new edging shears that Tina ordered, they are Wilkinson Sword so should be great.
This afternoon I decided to get the calligraphy books out and make some ‘stay safe’ cards. Really enjoyed it and may make some more later.

I had another one of the store cupboard ready meals which was small but very tasty. I started the watering this evening and then Tina came out and helped me finish off. This funky plant was flowering behind the gate!
The sky was great when we were packing away.
Watching Casualty now, not overly cheery!

  1. You have been busy. It’s all coming together now. This enforced lockdown has been good for the gardening. Nice that you had a helper with you today too. Makes it a bit easier for you and it’s always better if you’ve got someone to talk to while you’re out there. You’ll soon be ready to open to the public. If we’re ever allowed to mingle again!
Like the cards. That’ll give you a reason to get out to the post box again 😊
Like the two pics you finished with. The plant looks like something that would be at home in a jungle, and the sky looks great against the silhouette of trees.

  2. That plant does look like a jungle one, especially after us watering!
We are not planning where to go next in the garden so yes, the enforced being in and me not out of action because of surgery has been a real bonus for getting the garden improved.
Enjoyed making the cards and trying a couple of different alphabets as well.
