This morning the first job was to try and take cuttings of the aubretia in the front garden to plant at the base of the new rockery. I am hoping that they will take.
I went out into the front garden to start clearing one of the beds at the front of the house. It was well overgrown with weeds and the edging had been flattened in places by the amount of weed.
I made a start but it was just too hot at the front of the house so I went to repot more bonsai trees for a while as the new bag of compost arrived today. Just about done them all apart from a tray with a few in that were just seedlings last year and one that I think is dead!
Had a really weird experience when I was about to get lunch, Tina had ordered some curry mixes and they were on the side. Pandora was up like a shot and behaving like they were cat nip! I got her down, turned my back and she was up again, pushing them around with her head and rubbing against them, she got her claw caught in one pack and when I was trying to free her and remove her from them she really turned on me, biting my hand hard so she got a smack on the nose! So we have a cat with a curry fixation, the packs are hidden in a cupboard now!
After lunch I went back out to the front and carried on with the bed. I tried to resit the flattened edging as well.
Getting rid of the removed weeds I took a picture of the front bed as so many tulips have appeared, it does look pretty.
To finish today I spotted a new icon ‘photo booth’ and have taken two whacky selfies!!
Pandora is a very strange cat. The head whacking I can see as cat like, but a curry addiction is a new one on my. I wonder if some curry powders contain catnip? 😊 Should be interesting when you’ve all had a curry to see who she attacks first!
ReplyDeleteHope your plants take in the rockery. It makes a nice feature in the garden. Nice to have lots of room for things like that. The front bed really had overgrown. I remember when you did it originally. So a bit different there. Bit better now you’ve cleared it though. The front bed does look nice too. Very colourful. Perfect for the passers by, if you have any during the lockdown.
I’m surprised you’ve never noticed photo booth on there before. It’s on there from new. I played with it a fair bit and some of the effects are really good. The last photo is great. You caught that one really well and the expression makes it even better 😊
She certainly is a strange cat, she is biter pie at the best of times but she was really angry with me when I removed her from the powder! She has remained in a bit of a funny mood for the rest of the day.
ReplyDeleteI really hope the aubretia takes, it will just finish the rockery off.
Will try and get the fairy garden tidied up if it isn’t too hot in the morning.
