A bright morning and the sun gleamed on the sea again, always looks lovely but difficult to capture.
The rails along the lower wall had been recently painted, they were looking rusty and unloved!
The slope ahead of me, which is pretty steep, looked like steps this morning because of the angle of the sun and the shadows.
I cut back through the park again and took a picture of the area that looks like a large pond most of the year.
The skate park was quiet so early but is usually very well used and is pretty impressive. The park was empty again too.
I did a bit of shopping when I got home and then Tina and I set off for the drive to Mirfield to The Community of the Resurrection where Tina trained for her ministry. The church is beautiful and today the new High Altar was being consecrated by the Bishop of Wakefield. We had a good drive over, the roads were fairly quiet, we thought probably because of the football match today. The church is an impressive building.
After the service we went to look at the altar, a beautiful evening Mondale fossil stone teeming with fossils more than 350 million years old.
One more photo outside and yes, did buy some plants at that stall.
We went to Ikea on the way back to have lunch and Tina needed to buy mugs for the parish house. I have only be to IKEA a couple of time and have hats it because it is so heaving. Not today, it was nearing time for the England match and not many people about at all, didn’t
T really have to queue to get out meal and only a few tables were occupied. I got a new memory foam pillow which was sensible and ‘Hairy’, not sensible but extremely cute!

Dinner and watering this evening, it has been very hot. England still in the World Cup and Lewis in on pole at the British Grand Prix, so a good sport day.
I love the second pic with the lamp or whatever it is. It’s a shame you couldn’t quite get all of it the shot though. Think I prefer the rails when they’re rusty. They look much too new for me. I like the pic though. The one of the fake stairs is very good. I would never have guessed it was actually a slope unless you’d said so. Well spotted.
ReplyDeleteThe new altar at Mirfield, is it one piece of stone? If so how did they lift it and get it in there?
Good job you’ve got a bigger bed now. More room for extra cuddly toys :-)
Did go up to it and there seemed to be some joins near the edge at the he top but it gave the appearance of being one piece, didn’t talk to anyone about it though. I was a bit confused by the fake stairs to start with, mind and eyes playing tricks and all that!
