I went into the Hall and looked out for Jean and Ellie and sat with them. Had time to show them the holiday pictures on the iPad before the speaker was introduced. The speaker was Paul Harrison, a crime author and he was very entertaining and really interesting. He had been a policeman and then went into profiling and worked with the FBI in America interviewing serial killers, probably all the well known ones you could think of. Also British ones like the Yorkshire Ripper. He writes books about them not novels, as I said, very interesting. After the meeting I walked back by the sea for a bit, passing this great structure.
And the planted up boat and the sea with a brightening sky. It had been a pleasantly cool walk to the hall but has become oppressively hot again this afternoon.
I had a pensioners fish and chips on the way home, really quite small but very tasty. I walked back through the remembrance garden and took another picture of the white daisies as the sun was shining today.
Back home I took pictures of these lovely flowers that have appeared.
This afternoon I haven’t done a great deal, I do seem to have been busy lately and it was too hot to be in the garden. I have watered this evening and watching the football. The sunflowers are getting tall, some over six feet and a couple are beginning to open now.
Need to get the bedroom sorted tomorrow for the new bed arriving on Thursday. Maybe some morning weeding but will take the keys with me!!
What a good start to the day :-) Did Darren get ticked off when he got home? Think you need to keep a key around your neck on a chain!
ReplyDeleteI really love the exotic bug hotel. You could have one like that in the corner of your garden.
Some lovely flower pics on here this evening. I particularly like the sunflowers in the bright sun. Very apt.
Bet you’re looking forward to your new bed. I hope it means you’ll get a good nights sleep every night. You never know.
Hope England win.
So far so good, but not exactly convincing!
ReplyDeleteThe flowers look so much more vibrant in the sunshine.
A big bug hotel is a good idea, will give that some thought.
