She dropped me off at Van Hage as I had foolishly said I could walk from there. Forty five minut s later in what turned out to be oppressively hot sunshine I did arrive at Emmie’s. She will be 98 in a couple of months but is still very sharp but not very mobile. Again, I haven’t seen her in a long time, but she enjoys the holiday photos and we had a good old natter. I did take a picture of some horses as I was walking to thto village.
And a couple of the church in the village.
I caught the bus into town, had a wander around and got a sandwich for lunch, then caught another bus out to Orton to see Margherita. We had one game of computer Scrabble and another regular game of Scrabble. I took her in some chocolates as I know she enjoys a treat now and again.
From there another bus to this end of town, it has been so hot that walking down from the bus stop I was flagging! No plans this evening, off to Hemel with Anya gain tomorrow to see Brian and Hazel.

A very busy day for you, specially in this heat. It was good that you got to meet up with a few people though. Glad to hear Emmie is still her normal sharp self. I hope she managed to pass on a lot of gossip. One of her favourite pastimes I know :-)
ReplyDeleteI’ve walked by those horses on the Eye Road so many times, but never thought to take a pic. Same with the church. Maybe next time I’ll think to do it. Assuming I remember that is. You know what my memory is like!
Hope you sleep well after all your exercise, ready for your trip tomorrow.
It was good to fit in friends as well as family, lots of news to catch up on. Emmie told me about Janet’s funeral high she managed to get to. Janet that I worked with at Woad Coart. She still misses Ruby.
ReplyDeleteI bet she does miss Ruby a lot. They were a good pair together!
ReplyDeleteSo different but it was a good friendship.
