Unfriendly looking sea!

The saga of the blanket box continues, although at the moment it is arriving tomorrow providing we are not knee deep in snow by then! It has been a truly awful weather day, grey, raining all day and a bitterly cold wind. The charity shop was quiet to start with. I have now done all the paperwork and reading the procedures for now, I am sure there will be more before long. It was a good session, got quite busy in the end with people coming in to get out of the rain.
I came home for some lunch and to get ready to go to the blood donating session. It was good to find that my tee shirt had arrived from America.John Denver  was my favourite male solo singer, well, he still is but I think it is about twenty years since he died now.
I think I only ordered it a couple of weeks ago so pretty good to get it today.
I made my way down to the leisure centre where the blood donating session was. I was a little early so went to look at the sea. Very rough and the wind meant I didn't get too close, didn't want to get blown over or in for that matter!

It was very loud and quite fabulous too.
Sadly my iron count was just a little too low for them to take my blood today, so have four months now to get it up to scratch.
When I got home my acrylic blocks arrived, so I have had a little play. I am not sure I press hard enough and will try with some acrylic paints later.

I have a ticket for a show in Bridlington tomorrow, so hoping the weather isn't too bad.

  1. Great t shirt and quick delivery too. Not exactly what you can so about the blanket box though! It’ll come tomorrow......maybe.
The sea did look a bit rough today. It’s been a reasonable day here for a change, but snow forecast tomorrow. It’s Spring, why all the snow? Should be sitting in the park in the sun looking at pretty flowers, not wading through snow in galoshes! Glad the blocks arrived. Considering you only had a little play, you’ve got some fantastic patterns there! It’s hard to believe it’s done the way it is.
I hope the snow doesn’t hinder you getting to Bridlington for your show tomorrow. Wrap up well, the theatre might be cold.

  2. The sea was very foamy and the spray was coming over some of the walls. Wasn't a day for looking at it for long though!
I really like the shirt, looking forward to wearing it when spring actually does arrive!
Can't find the acrylic paints, I think I may have some somewhere, or maybe they were something I got rid of. May try the water colours and see if they work. A fun technique.

  3. Hi Jan, which charity shop r working at, I love charity shopping, I bought a slow cooker, 3 litre the other day, unused for a tenner and that's just the tip of my shopping iceberg lol
I have got some glass paints and used them once, I wasn't too pleased with the result but needs practice and lots more colour options. So I must buy little by little.
