Darren and Tina headed off to Hull this morning, Darren was having work done on his car and Tina was going it to meet him there and spend the day out and about.
I wandered down the road to the paper shop, to post a letter and to take a dvd in to the charity shop, not a donation, but for the manager to borrow.
Came home and got ready to catch the bus up to Freeport, haven't caught the bus there for a while but didn't feel like the walk today, getting lazy and it is still quite cold! I was at the bus stop with a bigoted, racist man who had an opinion about everything, and mostly opposite to my views, thankfully he was catching a different bus.
I called in the craft shop and got a panel for making a soft toy giraffe,
and a little wooden 3D house, which if anything like other wooden push together models I have tried to make will not be a walk in the park! Should look cute though.
I had been going to get meat for the weekend at the butchery at Freeport but found today that is has been closed and there is now just a cafe there, very disappointing. So I rushed back down to catch the next bus home, dropped off my purchases and got the trolley out to go to the local shop.
Sat in the warm this afternoon. did a couple of puzzles and a bit to the embroidery. Apart from having to try and mark it on as I go, the sewing is making my thumb joints sore so I can't do too much at a time.
A VERY long way to go yet!
I decided to try something different for dinner so made a savoury crumble/ It was tasty but the crumble part may need a bit of tweaking.
Casualty later and I have plenty of Two Ronnies still to watch.
You’re allowed to catch buses sometimes you know, you don’t have to walk everywhere. I know I do, but that’s different :-) You usually get the nutters, and lulus talking to you at bus stops, so a bigot made a bit of a change for you. Think yourself lucky he wasn’t going on the same bus as you. Small mercies and all that.
ReplyDeleteI like the crafty things you bought. I know you do lots of stuff, but you’ll soon get them sorted. I don’t envy you doing the house, they’re usually sods to get together!
The embroidery is coming on ok. Little and often as they say.
The crumble looks nice, but lots of melted cheese on top would be good too.
I know, the buses are very helpful on occasions. The bigot was indeed a change, will settle for the nutter next time!
ReplyDeleteI have a little stock pile of crafty stuff, no doubt it will get done eventually.
I did cover the crumble with grated cheese but it didn't melt.
