Trip out despite the weather

I had the ticket for a show in Bridlington this afternoon, but Tina suggested we go via Scarborough and look in at the auction, we haven't done that since we moved. As we were going that way we called in at the studio, saw Donna and collected the tiles I want to paint and a selection of paints. We walked along to the auction house, saw a few bits that we liked but Tina did bid on a Monet print, had to be the bargain of the day for £20 and just about big enough for our house!
Nice to be in Scarborough again, if only briefly.
Quite a lot of of work going on in the pedestrian areas and some of the roads, causing some chaos, hopefully it will all be sorted before the season really kicks in.
We had some lunch in the town and then Tina went to collect the car and I walked back to the auction house. Another snow flurry hit while Tina was collecting the picture.
Then we set off to Bridlington. Tina left me at the theatre and had time to go home for a couple of hours. I saw Flashdance with Joanne Clifton. Well over two hours and a really good show, lots of dancing and good music and Joanne had a really great voice. Darren and Tina both came to meet me and had a cup of tea waiting with a wild sea view seat in the cafe!

We have lived by the sea for a while now but don't remember seeing the whole sea to the horizon foamy as it has been the last couple of days. Did take a shot before we got into the car, but it was pretty cold out there.
The journey home was difficult in parts as the fine show was heavy and was like fog in parts, so making out the road was a challenge, well done Tina.
I did a little more playing with the new craft technique last night, so will finish with that.

  1. A trip into Scarborough was nice for you. I know you used to enjoy the auctions, so I’m surprised you didn’t come home with something too. That is a nice print, and as you say at £20 was a bargain. Fits in with the colour scheme of that room too.
Sounds like the show was a total success. Can’t imagine her singing though. I suppose I’m just so used to her being a dancer, that it seems odd. Shame Kevin wasn’t in it too.
The sea does look extremely rough, so the cafe was the best place to view it. Like the silhouette pic of the two of them by the way.
You could make your own wallpaper with that technique. Might take a while. Now wrapping paper would be quicker though.

    1. It turned out to be quite a different day, made a real change. There was a great spinning wheel but it went for a high price and a couple of nice dolls houses but waiting for them would have made us short of time. I quite fancied furnishing one again but not actually making the house.
The sea was splashing feet into the air over the harbour wall but the windows were too messy to get a good shot of it.
I really do like the technique, may be a play day tomorrow.

  2. I’ve often thought about doing room boxes instead of making a full house. I kept all of the furnishings I made from the old dolls house, plus the hall section with all the stairs I made. Maybe one day.
