Tina and I had a talk about the wooden bench and planter we bought at the auction house some time ago. They are both untreated wood and we decided that painting them would be awful as they have nice grain so decided on waxing them and then using good outdoor varnish and have them in the walled garden. I was staying in today as we had several deliveries expected and the man coming to mend the new washing machine. So got the stuff downstairs to wax the two items.
They do look quite different now but the sun was shining really brightly when I took the 'after' photo.
Tina was out and then had a meeting so I decided to unpack the tv stand and check all the pieces were there. It was much bigger than I had imagined although it is going to have a very big tv standing on it.
The instructions said it was a two man construction and should take an hour, I thought that was a tad optimistic when I saw the plans.
The washing machine man arrived, wasn't too long fitting the new part and left it on a cleaning wash. His van would not be missed!
Tina and I set to with the tv stand, Rob the gardener called to discuss work in the garden and then we noticed that the washing machine was flashing an error code. Luckily Tina was given advice when she phoned the engineer and fingers crossed it is okay now. We did get the stand done, and only had to take it apart once where we had read the instructions wrongly, did take over an hour though.
Darren is unpacking and sorting the tv now, they will be happy when it is all set up.
All the expected deliveries arrived except my blanket box, and I had even nipped out to check it was still coming and to say I would be in. :-(
The bench and planter do look really nice in the sunlight there. Seems a shame to put them outside. Not sure how you’ll get on putting varnish over wax, so I would try it on the underside of the bench before you attempt the whole thing. The tv stand is extremely large, but as you say it’s going to have an extremely large tv sitting on it. Looking on the bright side, you won’t need to go to the cinema ever again :-) Only having to take the stand apart once is pretty good going. I’ve been known to have to do it more times than that! Glad to hear the washer is fixed now. I had visions on the three of you down the Mere scrubbing clothes on rocks :-) It’s a shame that after all the achievements today that the blanket box didn’t arrive. You’re just trying to keep me in suspense!
ReplyDeleteI will test an area that doesn't show before I steam ahead.
ReplyDeleteWill take a picture of the tv on the stand tomorrow and you never know, maybe on of the blanket box!!
Tina has used the washing machine again so fingers crossed it is now in good working order.
That appears to be excellent however i am still not too sure that I like it. At any rate will look far more into it and decide personally! targonca szállítás Debrecen Europa Road Kft
