Oops!!

The oops moment comes a little later. I left in plenty of time to take a seriously slow walk to the doctors so as not to raise my blood pressure any more than necessary. Stopped to take pictures on the way of the park and sky (I know, any excuse).

Funky red glow in that middle one, a trick of the light not actually there. A bit further down the road came the oops moment, I wonder if the whole wall will come tumbling down like Jericho!
Good thing there wasn't a toddler passing at the time.
I got into the doctors one time, a bonus of having an 8.30 am appointment, you do have to queue outside until they open the doors but straight into the doctor once inside. My tests were mostly fine, my blood pressure was down a bit but still too high. She has waived the medication for three months while I try to get in into 'normal' range. My iron levels are a bit on the low side, but I have had that since I was a teenager so have some iron pills to boost it a bit. No obvious reason for the numbness in my foot, so just carry on, but if it gets worse she may refer me to a neurologist.
I walked up to the seafront, very cold but bright, had a drink and took sea photos.

I enjoyed watching the starlings have a bath in the water feature.
I have started the swan jigsaw but although only 500 pieces it is going to prove to be quite a challenge.
Hopefully the butterfly mosaic and the large mirror will be going up in the walled garden next week, so thought I had better make a start on weatherproofing them. I have had the mosaic for about thirty years, took a young man with cerebral palsy about four months to complete when I was an art and craft day centre instructor. He needed a little assistance and we must have spent hours cutting up the tiles into such small pieces. It will look great outside but I need to make sure it is as well protected as possible. The mirror we got at the auction house, painting that with exterior paint will be fun!!

I cut pieces of card to cover the mirrors to make the painting easier, not enough yet but I am working on it.
Doreen collected my this afternoon to take me to the craft group. I won't post what I was doing as it would give away a surprise for somebody. About nine of us, a very friendly group all doing their own chosen projects.
Tina is very poorly this week so I made up batter so that I could make Darren his pancakes this evening, even tossed them!
I have the second part of Trauma to see tonight, but also there is a new series of Shetland which I really like. We are lucky to have catch up these days so that I won't have to miss either.

  1. I like the third picture of the sky. The red effect is called aberration. It’s caused by the light bouncing around in the lens. You sometimes get it around the edge of buildings if it’s a bright day.
That wall is a mess. Looks like it’s been freshly pointed too at some point, so maybe it’s happened before. I’d take a wide berth if you go by there another day!
Glad the doctor didn’t find anything too drastic. At least the walk there did you good :-) I like all of the sea shots, very nice.
I really wouldn’t be wanting to paint that fiddly mirror frame! Good luck with that.
    Shetland.

    1. I know you are a sky fan too, as is Tina, we will educate the world yet! Thanks for explaining the red effect, guessed it was something to do with the brightness.
Really lovely doctor and on the whole positive although weight and exercise were mentioned again of course.
The mirror will be a bit fiddly, will do my best.
