I have been to town several times this week so thought I would walk down to the sea for a change today. I saw that the open top buses were running so caught one along to the far end of the south bay. On the way down I saw this tree, interesting bark and fungus!
The sea had obviously been rough as there was a lot of dbris up on the walkway.
The day was grey, but not cold and not windy, so good to be out.
There were a lot of people about at the south bay and I was quite surprised to see the donkeys out in January.
I walked along the bay and had a lovely cup of caramel latte in one of the cafes. I went into an amusement arcade and changed a two pound coin into two pence pieces. There were some little worry dolls in one of the machines and I actually 'won' all three with my change!
I have posted a couple of pictures of the life boat station under construction. It really is an impressive and very big building.
I took a picture of the harbour when I got on the bus to come back to the north bay.
Back home I watched an episode of House and then have been cooking. Made some cottage pies for the freezer, cooked a chicken for tomorrow and toad in the hole for today. I will try Let it Shine tonight and Casualty is on, so that is the evening sorted.
A nice wintery day for a wander down the seafront. Probably the best time to do it really with less people about. I really am surprised the donkeys are on the beach. I can't imagine there were many kids around wanting to ride them!
ReplyDeleteThere certainly is a lot of debris on the front in that pic. That's the time you want to be around taking pictures, then those big'uns are rolling in! As long as you stand well back obviously :-)
The harbour looks just as busy this time of year as it does in the summer. Not sure if they run any trips out to sea, but bet it's be quite rough out there.
It was nice to take the bus and see both bays, haven't done that in a while. Didn't go upstairs on the open top this time but maybe will be doing it again in the summer, fingers crossed.
