This morning I worked in the garden for a while as I wasn’t visiting Bel today. I worked on the area that I started clearing the other day. The gooseberry bushes were getting scruffy and both had plant growing around then, one had brambles and the other a very deep rooted weed. I pruned them and managed to remove the brambles without completely lifting the plant. The other one I had to dig up and the weed was growing in and around the roots, m must have struggled with it for about half an hour! Didn’t manage to remove it all but most of it. The first pic doesn’t really show the progress, better from the other angle.I had some lunch and then worked on the gecko for a while before walking to Jeans via the se front.
We had a nice couple of hours and then Terry drove me home.
Since tea I have been going dotty again and now it is finished!
I will keep flat for now while ai decide how to display it.
Shame you weren’t visiting Bel today, it would have been a lot less work 😊 I bet the gooseberry bushes breathed a sigh of relief after being rescued like that. Most people would have just chopped the weed off the top, but they got a total root groom! Doesn’t look very worn out there, but I bet you still built up a sweat.
ReplyDeleteLooks really nice along the seafront, certainly brighter than in the garden earlier. Still not too warm though I bet.
You’ve done so well with that gecko. I’m amazed you got it finished so quickly. I though it would take weeks, if not months. You have spent quite a few hours on it though. Well worth it as it looks great. I suppose the only way of displaying it properly is a custom made frame. Se one mortgage for one of those!
On to the greenhouse now that’s finished.
I hope I might finish digging that bed over tomorrow, one job done before heading to Peterborough for a few days next week.
ReplyDeleteI did spend a lot of hours on the gecko and they are quite stunning when finished.
Will hopefully get started on the greenhouse when I am settled back at home.
