Let the challenge begin!

This morning after sorting the shopping delivery with Darren and doing a few chores Darren took me to the garden centre as I wanted to get some more fat balls for the birds. Darren noticed a potting tray which he thought would be good in the greenhouse. I have a similar one in there already but this one looked ideal as a work station when I start making the miniature greenhouse.
We had tea and cake and were given some vouchers, one was for this week and was £5 off when you spent £20 on bird supplies. So I got a couple of new bird feeders as well as a tub of fat balls. When we got home I went into the front garden to get the coloured lights down, they were threaded through the trees and bushes and as I want to use the branch trimmer I bought they needed to come down. Tina will put them out again as next Christmas approaches.
I went into the back garden and took the fat balls to the store and filled one of the new feeders. I brought one old feeder in to clean. I didn’t do anymore outside stuff as my knee has been really quite painful today. The gardening books tell you that hellebores don’t like to be disturbed but I chanced it about three years ago as we have some at the far side of the house which we really don’t get to look at. A few years on and it hasn’t only taken but is flourishing so glad on this occasion that I didn’t listen to the experts!

Before getting tea ready I started sorting through the miniature greenhouse stuff, not the least bit daunting! There are sheets of stuff as well as these packs, and the pieces aren’t labelled to you need to identify then for plans.

But the pieces that need to be painted identified and fist coat done, hopefully on the correct side!

So the challenge has started!
My wrist is painful now so hoping that settles down, falling apart!

  1. Darren is anyones for tea and a slice of cake 😄 Much easier to get a lift there than to drag stuff about on a bus, and you can get more! Using the potting tray as a craft workstation is a great idea. It looks perfect for it.
So that’s Christmas done with now if the lights are packed away. It’ll soon be here again though. Time to start cakes again before too long!
You did a lot of walking and gardening before you went away, so I’m not surprised you have painful knees. You should be doing less strenuous things and more easy enjoyable stuff at your age. You are a bit of an old fart now you know 😂
I have to agree that not listening to the experts regarding those plants was the right decision, they look very healthy.
That kit really does look extremely daunting! Once upon a time I’d have enjoyed something like that, but I really don’t think I’d have the patience these days, or the eyesight for it. That’s a lot of bits. I’m sure when it’s done it’ll look great. Rather you than me. At least you have the patience and will plod through it. I thought the gecko would be bad enough, but you flew through that. Give it a few weeks and the pics of the completed article will be on here.
Hope all your extremities hold out until you finish the greenhouse 😄

  2. I did quite a lot of walking yesterday as well, have eased off a bit today so fingers crossed the knee settles a bit.
I think the tray is ideal, just need to make sure it gives me the incentive to continue with it.
