Damp walks and pottery painting

After the usual Saturday morning routine I thought of catching the bus to Freeport but as it was only spitting with rain decided to walk instead. I had the elf to collect from The pottery painting studio and also had a ten pound credit there so thought I might find something else to paint. I had a drink in the coffee shop before going into the studio. The elf has turned out pretty well, probably could have done with another coat of paint but I had spent three sessions painting it when I decided it could be fired.
I saw a flamingo dish which I liked so painted that. In the first photo I had just used a little pink paint which dries almost white, so the second photo doesn’t look a great deal different, but it should be pink when it is fired!

By the time I had finished I had just missed a bus, and as they are only hourly decided to walk home as well. I finished reading a novella written by Dick Cartmel who used to be my doctor when I ran the house a Mayors Walk. It was an entertaining read. I have another one and it seems he has actually written six novels.
I have booked to go down to Peterborough in a week or so and was pleased with myself today when I managed to print my tickets without assistance. I am new to printing from an iPad!
The weather cleared up for a while late afternoon but it is tipping down outside now, so Pandora came in from a spell in the garden very soggy indeed!
I did put some crystals on the gecko before I got tea and as there isn’t much on tv tonight I may put a few more in later!

  1. So much for taking it easy and not doing so many steps! In the rain as well, pneumonia on the cards now 😊
The elf looks good. I think the face is lovely. The rest of it look fine to me and I’m sure it’s new owner will be more than pleased with it. The flamingo is really nice too. It looks pink to me now, which is unusual as they usually look totally different colours before firing.
I may have a look on the kindle to see if the docs books are on there. I knew he’d written two, but didn’t know about the other four.
Printing from the iPad can be a pain in the bum, I don’t do it unless I really have to. So you did ok. Nice to be able print the odd bits when you want rather than having to ask others. Hope the weather down here is a bit better when you come. It’s been pretty horrid lately.
That gecko will be the ruination of your eyesight!

  2. The gecko is quite eye straining and I keep missing some however careful I think I have been. The code shapes are pretty similar too!
Yes, quite a bit of walking today and a twinging knee this evening!
    Will walk less tomorrow…..
