What a day!

Today we were out before nine and headed off to see the Kelpies, the first of three visits to see them today! The weather was kind and it was so worth it to come all this way to see them first hand, so to speak.
There were two smaller ones by the visitors centre and that photo has them in the front with one of the large ones between.
After a wander around there and lots of pics we went to a lovely little town called Linlithgow and I will put a some pics, a lovely little church and a dog statue and description, we did some shopping there, and have coffee and cake!

Then we went to see the Forth Bridge, well, the three of them, quite a sight.
We called in on the Kelpies again of the way to the Falkirk Wheel. We were booked on the hour trip but found it a little disappointing. You couldn’t see a lot although the mechanism for moving the boat up onto the viaduct was fascinating we could have seen it better watching from outside! The children on the boat were bored very quickly.

Then to round the day off we went back to the Kelpies to see them lit up, before heading tiredly back to the accommodation.
The moon was bright and low so tried to catch it with a kelpie!

  1. Looks like a great day out. Bet they are a grand sight to see in person. Well worth the trip. Looks like the weather was kind to you too.
I’m surprised the dog statue is still there. In this weird day and age I’m surprised it hasn’t been thrown in the water!
It’s given the camera a pounding today, which is good. I think you’ll have to get one blown up and framed when you get home.

  2. It was an amazing day, we did a lot of walking, albeit pretty slowly because of me!
I may pick some more photos to go on tomorrow as I had such a lot to choose from!
I think my photo tray may become a Kelpie tray!
