A long journey today and pretty awful weather a lot of the way, well done Tina! We had a couple of stops, one inEngland and one in Scotland. We came within half a mile of our destination without a hitch and then the road to turn right as we were about to arrive was closed! Tina phoned the host and she gave directions for getting here a different way. That entailed going along a very narrow and twisted country road, and going through two puddles that were more like ponds! I took some pictures while travelling, as you can imagine a lot were blurred or more of windscreen wipers that view! There were some lovely autumn colours but difficult to get any shots. We had one dryish spell so managed a shot of the scenery. The accommodation is a converted barn, absolutely lovely inside and we got a mice welcome pack to.
It was still raining when we arrived and we were pretty tired, especially Tina, so we have stayed put this evening. We did pass the Kelpies on the way, looking forward to seeing them close up tomorrow.
It does look a bit of a miserable old day to drive any distance. Good job the Rev likes a bit of driving. I hope the weather cheers up a bit for you and it’s not constant rai while you’re there. The accommodations looks really nice. Like the step down to the door in what I assume is the lounge. Very quirky. Nice little welcome vpatch too. Breakfast sorted at least. Hope you manage to sleep ok tonight in a strange bed ready for a good day tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHaving a relaxing evening so we should be ready for a full day tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThe accommodation is one large room with a separate shower room, very nicely done.
