Where did those sixty five years go?

My sisiter in law gave me some slides and some photos, these are two of them and I imagine I was about eight! The second one is with my sisiter.

A real memory jogger! The slides have some of the boys in when they were small so very interesting and some even older when I was a teenager!
Yesterday evening Tina and I went to Walk Right Back, the story of the Everly Brothers, had time to call into B&Q on the way where I got a couple of bits of fine moulding to use making the dolls house furniture. The show was absolutely brilliant, I don’t think it would be possible to find a better tribute act, they sounded very like Don and Phil. Loads of interesting archive footage as the story of their career unfolded. Brilliant supporting musicians too and a pretty long show. Tina May have been the youngest person there but she thoroughly enjoyed it too.
I went along to the pet shop this morning and got some more fat balls, still plenty of birds visiting them and lots of young ones. I had a wander in the charity shops looking for narrow picture frames that I may b able to sue as decoration on Tudor dolls house furniture. Didn’t find any but couldn’t resist this rather lovely other ornament!
When I got here me there was a delivery and it was the sticky back vinyl Tina had ordered for me so I was able to finish the screen.
It has rained on and off all day but I did go up in the summer house for a while this afternoon. Managed to get a bit of variety in the photos firstly a young starling.

Quite liked that one, you can just about make out what it is! Then a young robin, I think and a great tit.

I took so many pictures of the foxgloves, about ten feet away, trying to catch the bees flitting in and out!

The blue tits are always a joy to see.

Then noticed this bee as I was making my way indoors.
A fairly relaxed and varied day.

  1. Awwww, cute pictures. Sixty five years ago....I’m not even that old 😊 I do find looking at old pictures really interesting. I don’t really have any, which is a shame really.
Pleased to hear the show was good. You’d had a really long day of travelling, so it was a nice ending. Fancy that. The Rev being the youngest in the room. Bet that doesn’t happen often 😊
I like the ornament. I can see why you had to snap up a bargain.
The screen looks great, and you can see a lot of work has gone into it. I’m already looking forward to the next bit of furniture.
You really are getting some great pics of the birds these days. That summerhouse is the perfect little hide for it. You did well to catch the bees from that distance too. I like the last pic, with the bee in the foreground and the summerhouse in the distance. That would probably look quite nice printed.

  2. The summer house and birds have certainly given me endless pleasure and the monopod has helped with the photos, less hand ache!
Strange having those pictures, seems like a different world and hard to think it is me!
Not sure what I will make next for the dolls house, but will try and get started on something soon.
