The strimmer does work!

Will explain the strimmer comment later!
This morning Steve, a parishioner who has been cleaning up the church yard came round to help clear the weeds from the gravel drive. Tina also went out and did gravel clearing while I weeded and trimmed plants in the flower bed long the wall. It is looking much better out there and Steve is coming back at the weekend to carry on with the job.
Tina has a delivery to drop off so we went out and had a very nice lunch at a farm cafe we h ave been to before. On the drive home we stopped t the d uck pond at Ulrome but no ducks, nice flower trough though!

We stopped at Mr Moo’s for an ice cream on the way back and saw the cows wandering into another field.
When we got back Steve was working out the front and he showed me how to adjust the wire in the strimmer. The story of the strimmer is that the first time I used it I thought the green plastic protector was the cutter so just mad a mess and thought that it didn’t work very well! I does work and I cleared the very large weeds either side of the summer house, had to pull out quite a lot of the cutting wire! I was well splattered with dirt and plant debris!
I did sit in the summer house for a while, got a couple of shots of the scruffy little blue tit but the light makes it seem in silhouette.

My Tudor furniture book arrived today, it is very small but interesting. I think the bed in it is pretty impressive, mine won’t be as fancy as that when I make it!

  1. The strummer was a bit of a DOH! Moment, but I have to say it made me laugh 😊 At least you finally got some use out of it.
If I ever get up there you’ll have to take me to Mr Moos. You’ve mentioned it several times and it sounds my sort of place.
I really like the pic with the cows. The hay bales and the turbine make it a really interesting shot. Very nice. Shame the bird pics were so backlit, but you know me, I quite like silhouettes.
I’m looking forward to seeing your rendition of the bed. I’m sure you could combine newel posts and square wood to make the posts. Right then, that’s that sorted.....no reason not get with it 😊

We just had ice creams rather than sundaes today but they were generous helpings!
Now I have mastered the strimmer I will make good use of it.....
