Lazy day....

I had a bit of trouble with my hands again last night, probably because I did more gardening than I intended yesterday. So this morning I went to the shops and did some chores in the house, then went into the summer house for a bit. When I was out I got a new bird feeder that is squirrel and larger bird proof. When the squirrels and starlings have depleted the other feeders hopefully the tits will be able to still get some food!
When I was out ther today I tried gong over the 40% optical zoom and venture into the digital zoom to see how they turned out. The sparrows feed at the fat ball feeder that is further away so the 40% doesn’t get them very large. One at that distance and the others more zoomed in, so to speak!

A couple of the robin, one more zoomed.

One of a tit and one that shows that the new feeder has been used already.

The squirrel was back, so more pics. Ther have been two playing in the garden today.

And a couple more, one closed in.

What I think is a nice close up!
Finally today and one I am chuffed with as this little fellow rarely comes into view!

  1. And the pics get better....and closer 😊 Seriously though just getting that slightly closer in make such a difference and your camera seems to handle the digital zoom well too. Not all cameras do. The monopod really comes into its own now. You’d struggle to get such clear pics at that zoom hand held only. Some cracking shots, specially of the squirrel, but my favourite is the close up of the robin. You should definitely get a print of that.
The new feeder is a good idea, although I bet the squirrels don’t think so!
Glad you’ve had a lazy day today. Another one tomorrow hopefully 😊

  2. To say I have become somewhat obsessed with the photo taking is putting it mildly! Lovely to actually get a picture of the chaffinch today, they are usually hopping about to in the bushes behind the summer house.
Really pleased you suggested the monopod!
