This morning Darren and I went off to the boot sale and market. We had a very tasty sandwich and cuppa then off to the boot sale. It was bright but cool to start with but a lot of stalls today and very busy. I did get some bits of jewellery to use on the boxes, talking of which three are done now.
I think this is a funky table mat but I am going to make it a feature in the bug hotel.
I got a log planter on one stall and got an unusual plant at another one.
But the bargain of the day must be this amazing paper weight, bought for a princely 20p.
A surprise trip put to Burton Constable this afternoon, Darren does archery there and I went for a walk around the grounds. very interesting and a beautiful afternoon.
The sky was amazing today.
Took a picture of the archers as I got near, you can pick Darren out if you concentrate,
There was a good deal by becoming a 'friend of Burton Constable' so became a member as I will be able to get then when Darren goes to archery.
So, up until then a pretty good day. At home had a toffee as I had bought some for Darren and Tina and managed to break off a bit of tooth, a pain on many fronts, not long had a check up, should have left the toffees alone and it is a long way to the dentist! Then I put the chicken on in the halogen oven, checked it after about forty minutes and it was cold. Tina was going out so it made sorting dinner in time a little more stressful than it might have been. Suppose I will be phoning the dentist tomorrow.
Well certainly a great day for pics. You have some really good ones tonight. Glad you found your camera 😀
ReplyDeleteThe boxes have come out really well. You’ve got that process off to a tee now. So many variations you can do with different objects. I don’t think you every tire of making them. Probably good for church bazaars etc.
I like the wooden planter. I don’t think I’d bother trying to varnish it as I’m sure it would soak up a lot of coats.
When you said a dandelion paperweight I envisioned a yellow one. Goodness knows how they manages to cast that in resin. Must have been a nightmare. Definitely a bargain.
The house and grounds look very pleasant. More than one visit needed without doubt. As for the skies......you’re just showing off 😀 They’re brilliant.
With such a good start to the day it’s a shame it went downhill a bit at the end. I know how far you have to go to get to the dentist, so I feel for you. Tomorrow is a new day and all will be rosy.....hopefully!
Looking forward to going there again, plenty more to see and I think the inside of the house will be great.
ReplyDeleteI just love the paper weight, couldn’t believe my ears when he said it was 20p.
I will leave the planter then, not sure where it will live yet.
Great Clouds and I can see that bamboo ? Mat making a great big rest stop or reception area whilst waiting to bug in 😂
ReplyDeleteOh yes and how special is the paperweight is it a real dandelion clock inside that is very very clever
ReplyDeleteYes, a real dandelion head, how clever is that? Nearly had his arm off when he said 20p!
