I made two more cards with the texture paste last night but could finish them as I didn't have the right sized card blanks. So planned to go to Freeport to get some after my session at the charity shop.
I went out and opened up the greenhouse and made sure everything was watered before I headed off. It was steady in the shop, we had loads of stuff outside and shifted quite a lot. The standing about in the heat did make my legs ache a bit but not complaining about getting some lovely weather.
I went straight to the bus stop and had lunch when I got to Freeport. Got the card blanks but couldn't get audio books at The Works which was the other thing on my list. So, the other two cards are now complete.
I went to the shop to get some drinks and snacks for my journey to Hemel tomorrow and also wanted Windowlene, the old fashioned window cleaner, but also good for covering windows! The Coop didn't have any but of course Countdown did.
So off I went to try and save the plants I have left! Luckily I stayed on the stall and didn't break any windows.
Oops, didn't put the top on properly when I put it outside.
I took a few close up pics of flowers as I haven't used the camera much today.
I did buy a couple of bits at the charity shop this morning, although I hadn't planned to. This little lizard will go well with the geckos in the bathroom.
And I couldn't believe it when I saw this little vase as it is identical enamelling colours to the companion set. For 49p it had to be had!
Getting packed up and ready tonight to visit Hazel and Brian in Hemel over the weekend.
A good morning followed by a good lunch is always the way to go. Not sure if working in that shop is such a good thing for you. You always manage to find trinkets that “have to be had” :-) You’re normally totally right about them though, and the vase is no exception. It fits in lovely with the other bits, and the gecko will too.
ReplyDeleteThe cards from last night are great. I’m sure anyone would be happy to get one of those for any occasion. A red poppy is a definite.
I love the colour and the smell of Windowlene. I’ve not used it for donkeys years. I hope it helps keep the plants cooler while you’re not there to keep an eye on them.
Take it easy for the rest of the evening. You’ll need your stamina for a long days travelling tomorrow.
They don't have to come to my rescue much in the shop so that frees them up to do other stuff, so I do feel that I am genuinely helping.
DeleteWill be mixing more texture paste next week, got some odd pieces of lace to try, did use some on the background of one of those cards. Endless possibilities and the cards aren't too fussy.
Windowlene does smell good, haven't used any in years myself.
I really hadn't intended buying anything at the shop today, especially as I was going out after, but, these things just seem to appear!!
