Paper flowers!

This morning I caught the bus to Freeport quite early as I knew I had a delivery due today. I had decided to give the tiles that I did the experiment on to two of the ladies at the craft outlet as they had really liked them. I like them too but do have more that enough ceramics that I have decorated. I did buy a couple of cheap stencils to have a practice before next weeks course. I also collected my goody bag which had some good things in, including a polystyrene ball!! More of that later. I nearly missed the bus going there as I had wandered down the road a bit and was taking a photo of a bush!
The blossom was out on the way there and there was a tree actually at the Freeport, the plants obviously think Spring is on it's way.
Mags, the lady from the craft outlet, suggested I could cover one of the polystyrene balls with paper flowers, seemed like a good idea so sat making some downstairs while I was waiting for the delivery of bonsai compost.
Charlie was relaxing in a very chilled way while I was making them.
I thought I had quite a lot of flowers, but they are all on and as you can see I doubt if I have covered half of the sphere!
Making them has made my arthritic thumbs ache a bit so I will make some more another day. The bags of compost were quite small, so won't be enough for all my trees. Tina wanted to get and incinerator so said she would take me to the garden centre. I got some more compost, some stones to cover the soil and some planters.
Darren popped in briefly as he was off to club, Tina and I had a bit of tea together as they will be leaving when I am at the charity shop tomorrow and won't be back until Monday afternoon.
Nothing constructive planned for this evening.

  1. You were braver than me. I’ve not left the flat all day as it was too cold. At least you found some bright things to take pics of while you were out.
I really do like those flowers, and there does look a lot there. I was surprised they didn’t cover the ball. Either it’s a bit bigger than I got the impression of when I spoke to you, or the flowers are much small. It’ll look very nice when it’s completed though.
Home alone this weekend. You can party :-)
All the pics look really crisp and clear. Sony is definitely good.

  2. It really is still cold, I feel quite chilled this evening, and not in a relaxed way!! Should be getting warmer over the weekend but sadly, not necessarily dry.
The ball is about 4 1/2 inches in diameter. It needs a lot of flowers!
Don't know about partying, but you never know....
