I was up fairly early with the cats and noticed the way the morning sun was catching the church windows, so went up and got the camera, even went outside rather than take pictures through the window.
Lovely weather today so after I had been to the shop to get milk etc for Darren and Tina's return I went into the garden to try and make some progress with the grass clearance in the beds. The bit that I had left was the worst as it is banked and also it had rained last night.
While I was having a break sitting on the steps I was admiring the trees and clouds, I know, I need help!
The flower bed not only had the tufts of grass and various plants but also couch grass, so was a bit hard going. I used a piece of flooring to try not to damage the lawn too much.
I did pot some foxgloves and forget me nots as I went along.
I did a few more chores in the house, but to be honest the latest bit of gardening really did make me ache, so sat with my feet up until Darren and Tina arrived home. They had a good weekend and I have some Harrods tea bags and preserves, very swish. Also a very silly Super Bug soft toy!
I have been out to a craft class this evening, will take a picture of the result for tomorrow.
Love the church pics. Bet Tina does too. Almost worth getting up extra early :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks as though you did quite a lot in the garden today, so not surprising that you ached afterwards. You’ve done way too much lately. You need a rest! It is all starting to look really nice though. Hopefully at some point you’ll be able to sit out there and reap the benefits of your labour.
That was a very blue sky behind those trees. Nothing wrong with looking up and admiring. It’s a shame more people don’t.
The MRSA superbug is cute. Totally unlike the real thing!
Had to rush to get the camera, quite spectacular the way the morning sun was catching the windows.
ReplyDeleteThe garden is beginning to take shape, hopefully Tina and I will get out there together for a bit tomorrow. I would like to get a complete area cleared so that I can put in some of the plants I have had for a while.
The sky was very blue and the clouds very white so quite striking, and I like trees at any time of the year.
The bug is cute, as you say, unlike it's namesake!!
