The weather hasn't been great today, but at least it has been dry. It seems torrential rain might be on the way tonight, just for a change. I went down to the shop fairly early as we needed some bits and as the second hand shop was open I went in and bought one of the little carved easels. Thought it would be nice to display a picture on. I may polish it up, in fact I will but I have a ton of wood that needs attention so maybe not just yet!
I went out into the garden and took some misty pictures, sunny ones will come eventually.
My wide calf ankle boots arrived today, or fat feet wellies as I call them. I can get them on so that is good!
Darren's birthday tomorrow so have made a sponge and was going to make a simnel style cake, couldn't find my easy recipe to winged it and it seems to have cooked, with marzipan inside and no leakage! The proof of the pudding will be in the eating of course.
Ellie from the craft group phoned while I was baking to ask if I wanted to go along to the craft class at the Inshore Rescue Centre. She doesn't know what the theme will be tonight but I have said I will go along, she will pick me up about 5.45 pm. that is the main reason I am doing the blog early today.
The mist lifted a bit and I went and sat in the garden for half an hour or so, a little chilly, but that was quite pleasant as I had got too warm when baking. The willow is looking good.
Just a few more pics from outside, not bright but brighter.
Hopefully some craft work to show tomorrow.
Didn’t stay dry here, in fact I got soaked on the way back for meeting M&R today.
ReplyDeleteI like the little easel. You do have a lot of wooden things to keep polished, but it’s worth the effort as it does look nice. Mind you I never say that when it comes to doing mine!
I see you’ve taken quite a few pics today, so you’ll be pretty much used to the new camera now. Showing off the zoom with the church tower :-) The colours come out really nice in the flowers, grass etc. Bet you’ll get some cracking pics with a little bit better weather.
Hope Darren doesn’t look on here tonight and see his birthday cakes. He’ll like the one with marzipan in. Think I would too.
Hope you had a good evening.
Darren isn't in yet so I think we will get away with it.
ReplyDeleteI did have a good evening, learning another way to make backgrounds using just one coloured ink. Interesting.
I am looking forward to taking pictures on a bright day, but the forecast isn't looking like that will be any time soon!
