I had decided to get an early bus to Hull, armed with a list of things to get while I was in a city!! The 220 came along first which is the one that goes the sea route, I actually went upstairs as I knew I was staying until the end of it's journey so wouldn't have to try and hurry down the stairs. The windows were clean so took a picture of the morning sky.
Also took one of Aldbrough church, where the bus turns round and another little church as we went bu.
The decoration in the station is attractive so time I had a picture of it!
I went to lots of shops and of course stopped for a coffee. I called into Jessops camera shop and had a good discussion with a young assistant, told him I would have a think and maybe return. There are small fountains in the city centre now, being enjoyed by some youngsters.
I sat on a bench near Whitefriargate and thought what a nice skyline the Hull buildings made.
I went and bought the new camera on my way back to the station, not a Canon this time so quite a change for me. My bag was heavy but I had set my heart on an indoor bonsai that I had seen at the flower stall on the station, I have looked at them half a dozen times now. So, despite it being heavy I bought one and somehow managed to get both bag and tree onto and off the bus without causing them or me any damage! I stayed downstairs this time.
When I got home I went to the local shop for some groceries, then had a cup of tea with Tina and told her I would polish the silver flagon that belongs to one of the churches. I went and checked on the plants in the greenhouse first, it gets really warm in there and it would be a shame to kill the seedlings off for lack of water. The flagon is pretty big and I haven't done a thorough clean this time.
I put the battery for the camera on charge when I got in and it is now ready to be taken out, hopefully tomorrow will be fine.
A long busy day and lots of shopping for good stuff. Sounds perfect! Buses do make very good portable viewing platforms. You were lucky to find one with reasonably clean windows. Looks like a very scenic route it takes. Like the sky. The station is very unusual with that decoration. I’ve never seen a station that didn’t look British Rail bland, but I’ve not been to as many as you.
ReplyDeleteHull is a very pretty place if you know where to look. But I suppose that’s the case with most places.
Glad you decided to get a new camera. With the amount you take I would think the old one is almost worn out! I’m sure you’ll get some great shots with the new one, and you’ll have fun practicing with it. Hope it stays fine tomorrow for you.
That bonsai looks very funky. Bet you won’t be doing the roots on that one for a while :-)
It was busy, and tiring, but in a good way. That bus route is very infrequent so it was more by luck than judgement that I got to go into Hull that way.
ReplyDeleteI have been toying with getting a camera for a while, had looked on line but it was good to actually talk to someone and compare what I am used to with another make.
The bonsai if really funky, would be fun doing the roots, it will be fine as it is for a good while!
