Manic day at the charity shop!

I did sit and make a few more roses last night, while the method was still fresh in my mind. I will find a good use for them eventually.
I made sure both the gates were unbolted before I went off to the charity shop, as both the fence men and Stephen said they would be back in the morning. Was just working with Elaine today and the shop was really busy, loads of people were coming in with donations, and it was already overcrowded out the back because Elaine had been on her own yesterday so couldn't do any sorting or pricing as she was manning the till. As it was so busy I said I would pop home for some lunch and then come back for a couple of hours. It was just as busy this afternoon, not helped by two ladies who are clearing out their mothers house and must have fetched ten or more boxes of donations in! Pretty good day for takings too.
The fence guys did replace the panel that was missing at the side of the garden, that might help to keep the nasty grey cat out that attacks our two, fingers crossed on that one.
Stephen was busy most of the day again but has now finished repairing the damaged wall on the outhouse.
The rest of it is ready to fall down but that wall will still be there now!
I have been quite tired today so not about to do much this evening. Think I am going to take the bus into Hull in the morning.

  1. Those roses do look good. Have you made those with a specific idea in mind, or just to practice the technique?
Sounds like the shop is a popular place. It certainly seems to shift a fair bit of stuff. I bet she was really glad of your help today.
The fencing looks so much better than it did. It always looks so dilapidated when it’s in a state of disrepair. Not sure it’ll keep out many cats though. Unless they’re old and feeble ones who can’t jump :-)
Stephen has made a fantastic job of that wall. It really looks good, and ad you say will probably last longer than the outhouse will!
I think you’ve earned a quiet evening tonight. Maybe the odd hot chocolate and snackette too. Hope the weather stays fine for your little jaunt tomorrow.

  2. I bought some of the textured paper so just practicing what we had learnt really.
The shop is really busy, and I think in the holiday season it will be very busy indeed.
The fence and wall are both looking really good now, another couple of improvements made to the garden.
