Pride comes before a fall!!

I am hoping this fall doesn't happen in the literal sense, I can do without any more joints aching! Many years ago I subjected myself to three hours of various tests in London, I have had a certificate, not dated, so I don't know exactly when, but have never before had it on display. So now is time I think. So, exhibiting my Mensa status!
So, if I am reporting an accident tomorrow you will know why.
I bought an orchid a while ago and it is absolutely beautiful, as are the flowers that Rachel sent, now opening up and looking fantastic.

This morning the fence men and Stephen arrived, he is repairing the outhouse wall. I left them to it as I was off to Freeport for a craft session.Did catch one of the guys who was making the huge gate!
It was a great craft session, loved making these 3D flowers. Took two pics to give the whole effect.

When I got home I checked the men were okay and made them drinks then decided to take myself off and see if I could find the other way to get to the mere. I turned at the Tesco roundabout and walked along, nothing signed but there was a field, with sheep in, that I could get into. No sign to say I couldn't and no one shouted at me as I wandered around. You can't actually get close to the mere but a few shots. Was being careful as it was very uneven ground and boggy in places, apart from the mole hills and droppings!

Then some of the field, the moles are definitely alive and kicking.

On the way back I took a picture of this gate, just because I loved it.
The fence is done, and makes quite a difference.

Stephen worked all day and will come to finish off in the morning, weather permitting. It is looking good.
Pictures of the willow and the about to flower magnolia flower, also one, not too clear as I had to grab the camera quickly, of a huge bee.

Feeling quite tired, but it has been a good day.

  1. It’s about time you showed that off. I remember you sitting it. Something to be proud of.......big head :-)
I do like orchids, but they’re not the easiest thing to look after. Although I did manage to keep one going for over a year once. It eventually succumbed to my negligence!
The cards look lovely. Those flowers look really intricate. I think you got the hang of those really well. I can see people getting you really beautiful cards for different occasions this year.
Nice little trip out this afternoon to see the mere. Even I would have enjoyed wandering though a field full of livestock. Worth it for some nice pics. At least you didn’t get arrested for sheep bothering. I wonder if Tina would have bailed you out? :-)
The fence looks nice. They’ve made a good job of that, so has Stephen with that wall. I real hive of industry there today. Som3 very colourful pics from you too. I particularly like the magnolia with the blue sky and the arched mirror behind it.
Not surprise you’re tired after your rustling reconnoiter!

  3. I had corrected it in my head when I read it! I did enjoy making them, if you made them for cards though I would have to get back into box making as well, as they certainly wouldn't go in an envelope!!
I will try the field another day and see if it leads further round the mere, it was certainly a different walk that's for sure!
Yes, a real hive of activity today and four vehicles round the drive as well as Tina's car. Just as well she didn't have to get out in it today. Pretty good results all round too, things are coming together.
    Big head! Nice!!
