I wasn't feeling overly inclined to go to the gym this morning and probably wouldn't have if it hadn't have been for my review appointment. But once there, had her fussing about my blood pressure again, although it is not that high, but higher than they would like it to be. She suggested I go to the docs and have it checked, probably will get around to it before I see her again for another review in a fortnight. I upped all my exercises a bit and didn't swim today. Walking back I got some memory put in my phone so that I can send and receive photos should I wish to, nice young man at the computer shop fitted it for me and tested it. Went along to Countdown before I came home, Darren wanted some of their oranges and I wanted to see if they had any tennis balls. Janine at the gym had suggested massaging my feet over a tennis ball when I mentioned that my toes have been going numb on the foot where I had the ankle surgery.
I sorted out some pencil sketches that I did over fifty years ago at college, and as Tina and I have things we want to get framed thought I would take them along to the framing place near the mere and wander onto the mere from there, thinking I may have lunch at the Mere Cafe. It was a bit drizzly but I didn't get too wet, but it was not a successful trip as the shop and the cafe were closed! Needn't have done that extra walking, but will post a series of pictures from the mere. It is absolutely vast, but I personally do not find it nearly as lovely as Scarborough mere.
On the way home I liked the look of the lichen on the hedges.
I had been going to buy tiles to decorate the back of my fireplace, but when Donna was over she said she could bring me paints and tiles to make my own. The more I thought about it the more I liked the idea. I was playing with a quick idea of picking up the bird image from the curtains and the leaves from the chairs.
I may drawer some up full size and add some colour before I start on the tiles. Not that we have arranged when Donna will visit again next. The other crafty thing waiting for action is a cushion for the window seat in my living room. Have had the foam and material for a while now. Chaos created, I needed to cut three pieces of foam as the large piece I bought wasn't long enough but too wide. Tried quilting cutter, craft knife and scissors as I hacked away. Managed to do the curved bit slightly better with a saw!! Have since heard an electric bread knife is the thing to use, but we haven't got one and it was too late by then anyway!
Did mange to watch an episode of The Two Ronnies this afternoon, will probably watch Lewis this evening.
A fair bit of walking forvyou today along with the exercise at the gym you hadn’t really planned on. You’ll be fighting fit soon! I’ll be interested to hear how you get on with the tennis balls over a bit of time. Sounds a good idea.
ReplyDeleteThat mere is rather large. A lot bigger than the one in Scarborough. It looks a bit too vast to be personal, if that makes any sense. Think that’s why it’s not so nice as the other one. Some nice scenery to take pics of though.
I think making the tiles yourself for the fireplace is a great idea. The design you have is nice, but I’m looking forward to seeing it in colour.
The foam doesn’t look too hacked to me, but you’re probably hiding the rough bits in the photo :-) It does make a mess. Good job you have that super duper little hoover.
I will let you know about the tennis balls, it feels quite good when you use them so that's a positive start.
ReplyDeleteThe mere is so big and bare, the mere in Scarborough is closed in by hills and trees and as you say seems much more inviting and personal.
Nice to have a couple of crafty things on the go, makes a change from gardening.
Still love my hoover!
Took me time to read all the comments, but I really enjoyed the article. It proved to be Very helpful to me and I am sure to all the commenters here! It’s always nice when you can not only be informed, but also entertained! top memory foam pillow in India
