Seeds and hail!

This morning Tina and I went to the garden centre, beautiful morning and a drive there in blue skies and bright sunshine. Got lots of seeds, reduced bulbs, that I have to find somewhere to plant pretty quickly, some tools and seed trays. We did have a sausage sandwich and a drink before we started filling the trolley! Oh yes, some really reduced bedding plants as well, so plenty to be getting on with.
That has all the seeds but not all the bulbs and plants. We didn't feel like going in the car to the supermarket so I took the trolley along to the co-op. My membership card has at last been sorted correctly, so my temporary number did work today. Popped into the greengrocers as well and then came back and rested for a little while as my ankle has been really sore today.
Then I went outside in the greenhouse for about an hour and a half, assembled the other staging, just a single layer this time and much easier, 1) I knew what I was doing and 2) had the first staging to rest on making it so much simpler. Another hailstorm while I was in there!
Got a couple of lots of seeds planted so now it is actually a working greenhouse, so to speak.
We have had dinner and I am going to relax this evening, may even watch The Voice as Olly is one of the judges this series.
This morning, because my ankle was really sore, I used a new ankle support which was really tight to get on. Took it off a little while ago and it had cut well into my leg, surprised I still have any circulation in it. The ankle is slightly less uncomfortable now so think I may have hindered rather than helped it today!

  1. Lots of seed to be getting on with. I loved the little lantern flowers when you had them in the garden here. They’ll look nice in one of large border areas you have. Can’t see any tomatoes or veg in that selection. The greenhouse does look like a proper job now. That staging makes such a difference. Things actually growing helps too :-) Bet it was fun in there while it hailed!
Hope the ankle doesn’t give you too much grief, but you have been overdoing it!

    1. There are some veg, little carrots, tomatoes and weird coloured radishes. Have to get some beds sorted and dug, the flowers are okay in containers. We do have a couple of raised beds, so hopefully will get them made up soon.
It was fun watching the hail run down the roof.
